About

Shena Little Bear is not only my pen name; it is also my Native American name.  I am Cherokee, Lakota, Osage, Irish, Scottish, German, and Welch.  In 1978, I graduated from State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri, but I started writing during my High School years.  I have worked for three newspapers:  the Miami Herald, Nevada State Journal, and Reno Evening Gazette.  During the 1990’s, I was the editor and publisher of a monthly Native American publication.  For years, I have written poetry and several of my poems have been published around the world.  I am a lifetime member of the International Poet Society.  Currently, I am writing books for readers of all ages.  To date, I have three books published:  VISIONS, PRAYERS, and POEMS; HOW THE LONE WOLF GOT HER NAME; and MY PAL LITTLE SNOWFLAKE.

Story Behind The Book

MY PAL LITTLE SNOWFLAKE is a delightful story about a little boy who makes a snowman to be his best friend. Together they have lots of fun with many exciting adventures including sharing a secret about a very special place. The little boy grows up to share his secret about his pal and the unique place with his grandson in a very interesting way. Children and the young at heart will enjoy this charming story, activity, and coloring book anytime of the year! The story is written in way a child will understand what having a best friend truly means, ways of sharing and giving with others, and how to remember your best friend in your heart even when you grow older. There are several pages of fun activities to do in the form of puzzles, fill-ins, search and find, and etcetera to expand educational skills in a fun and interacting way.
