Description

<p><strong><em>A tragic warrior lost in two worlds... Which one will he choose?</em></strong></p><p>The war in Iraq ended for Freddie when an IED explosion left his mind and body shattered. Once a skilled gamer as well as a capable soldier, he's now a broken warrior, emerging from a medically induced coma to discover he's inhabiting two separate realities.</p><p>The first is his waking world of pain, family trials, and remorse—and slow rehabilitation through the tender care of Becky, his physical therapist. The second is a dark fantasy realm of quests, demons, and magic, which Freddie enters when he sleeps. The lines soon blur for Freddie, not just caught between two worlds, but lost within himself.</p><p>Is he Lieutenant Freddie Williams, a leader of men, a proud officer in the US Army who has suffered such egregious injury and loss? Or is he Frederick, Prince of Stormwind, who must make sense of his horrific visions in order to save his embattled kingdom from the monstrous Horde, his only solace the beautiful gardener, Rebecca, whose gentle words calm the storms in his soul.</p><p>In the conscious world, the severely wounded vet faces a strangely similar and equally perilous mission to that of the prince—a journey along a dark road, haunted by demons of guilt and memory. Can he let patient, loving Becky into his damaged and shuttered heart? It may be his only way back from Hell.</p>

Story Behind The Book

Evin Driscol is not just a historical writer but a vampire who writes on supernaturals and their impact on human history. He is loved by some, hated by others, and tolerated by most. Though sharing knowledge of his own kind is pushing the fine line, Evin continues to write about supernatural history while exploring his own. Evin is ending his “Vampires and the Roaring Twenties” book tour in Chicago, his hometown. Just as things seem to be falling into place for Evin, his life is turned upside down when his own history threatens to repeat itself.

Just as I thought everything had been done in the world of writing about vampires, Randi Ertz proves me wrong.&quot; </span><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">~Christina Allen</span></strong></span></span><div><span style="line-height:normal;font-size:small;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><br /></span></span></span></div><div><span style="line-height:normal;font-size:small;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-size:12px;">&quot;</span></span></span><span style="line-height:normal;font-size:small;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-size:12px;">Kept me interested the whole time, I couldn't wait to find out what happened, but now an sad that I'm done!&quot; </span><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">~Diane Kramer</span></strong></span></span></div><div><span style="line-height:normal;font-size:small;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><br /></span></span></span></div><div style="font-size:11px;"><span style="line-height:normal;font-size:small;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-size:12px;">&quot;</span></span></span><span style="line-height:17px;font-size:12px;color:#333333;"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> You got a bit of </span></span><em><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-size:12px;">Twilight</span></span></em><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> with the ability to walk around in the daylight and not have to drink from humans (notice I said &quot;have to&quot;...doesn't mean they prefer it that way).  Add in a dash of </span></span><em><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-size:12px;">True Blood</span></span></em><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-size:12px;"> aka the Sookie Stackhouse series with the being out, having a governing organization, and synthetic blood drinks.  Shake those two together and add in a few more...and you've got a mixed concoction sure to startle lovers of the classic creepsters, but certain to dazzle the minds of readers today.  Certainly a recommended read for YA and fiction fans, and the start of a series I would definitely be interested in finding out just what happens next.&quot; </span><strong><span style="font-size:12px;">~Insatiable Reader Gina </span></strong><span style="font-size:12px;"> </span></span></span><a href="http://insatiablereaders.blogspot.com/"><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-size:12px;">http://insatiablereaders.blogspot.com/</span></span></a></div>
