Davidand his wife, Philann, enjoy taking advantage of the many outdooropportunities available to them in the Mountain State. His passionfor music and nature is evident in his writings.

Asa boy he spent his summers and occasional weekends discovering thenatural wonders of Greenbrier and Monroe Counties in West Virginia.His grandfather's farm bordered what was at that time hundreds ofacres of wilderness. It was there that he gained an interest in theunderground world hidden below the fields and forests. To the dismayof his parents David would find his way to one cave or another at anygiven opportunity.

Davidis the father of three children. His lifelong interest in the artsand nature is reflected in the career paths that his son and twodaughters have chosen to travel.

Davidgraduated from Charleston High School in 1967 where his favoritesubjects were music and literature. He continued his education atPotomac State College. He also attended Beckley College, and WestVirginia University Institute of Technology.

Davidis an avid reader and finds great satisfaction in writing.
