Story Behind The Book

When my daughters were only toddlers, I would sing "The Little Drummer Boy" to them and feel called to write the story of a shepherd who met Jesus on the night of His birth. Though the original idea was not a children's story, after speaking with our pastor, Little Shepherd became the tale of the night Obed visited the newborn King despite being afraid to leave his flock unattended.
