Cheryl Malandrinos is a freelance writer and editor. A regular contributor to Writer2Writer, her articles focus on increasing productivity through time management and organization. Ms. Malandrinos lives in Western Massachusetts with her husband, two children, and five cats. She also has a son who is married.

When my daughters were only toddlers, I would sing "The Little Drummer Boy" to them and feel called to write the story of a shepherd who met Jesus on the night of His birth. Though the original idea was not a children's story, after speaking with our pastor, Little Shepherd became the tale of the night Obed visited the newborn King despite being afraid to leave his flock unattended.
