New Alpha Rising: Ascension Part I
Description
<p>Countless years ago, measured in thousands, the Gods came first. Monstrous creations were born of their frivolity. Like the Gods, some of the creations were peaceful, others not. Their duty to preserve the earth completed once more, however, the day came that the Gods had to leave earth. Unleashed and with loose regulation, the abominable creations left behind multiplied. In their midst, another conception came to be, and his kind would exist absolutely outside of the God’s purview.<br />Unmated, alone, and untrusting of others, Chatran was charged to go to a place and protect the father of a great child, yet unborn. This duty, however, was unknown to the most cognizant part of Chatran. Only the Beast, who resided within him, knew. As a result, the Beast led Chatran to Walhalla, North Dakota. Although his initial charge was to protect the father he found there, Chatran also gained a mate and Pack. With them, Chatran also found a new way forward, and started on a course that would lead to – New Alpha Rising: Ascension.</p>
Story Behind The Book
In every person’s life there are events or situations which move us to new heights. Often, those events aren’t circumstances which bring us warm-fuzzy feelings. Many times it’s adversity in life which triggers our greatest accomplishments.
Those closest to me know I haven’t always been a writer. In fact, I never aspired to be one. But there was an event in my life which provoked me in such a way that I felt I needed to do something, and surprisingly what emerged was the genesis of “Façades,” my first novel. The event I am referring to is Colorado’s infamous Amendment 2, the anti gay and lesbian initiative from the ‘90s.
At the time, I admit I didn’t have the fondest feelings toward the group responsible for creating such havoc in Colorado. Today however, I look at that situation differently. Today, I realize these events moved me in such a way that I opened myself to new interests and gifts. There are many people who were hurt by Amendment 2 and many moved on to do things that have made a difference in the community. For me, without living through those dark moments, I may never have been called to go deeper, of which I am extremely grateful.
There are many messages in my book “Facades.” The lesson for me is simple, while it is hard to send love and kindness to those who may be unkind to us, when doing so something greater emerges.
If everyone sends the light instead of darkness …

Reviews
<p>"MARCOUX KEEPS YOU GLUED TO THE PAGES. My wife got to this book before I did, and I had to wait for her to finish raving about it so I could form my own opinion. The book draws you into the characters lives; you care about what happens and become totally involved with the story. Façades addresses many issues faced by lesbians: how much personal life to reveal at work and to family and friends; custody issues for lesbians whose ex-husbands are homophobic and willing to use this in a custody battle; the reality of grieving for a loss when society does not recognize the significance of the relationship; and domestic violence in both heterosexual and lesbian homes."</p>
