This is me! Anaward-winning Certified Career Management Coach, speaker and author of thehighly-acclaimed No Canadian Experience, Eh? A Career Success Guide for NewImmigrants, the first-of-itskind career guide for internationally trained professionals. The second editionis available at CreateSpace.

My programofferings include career transition coaching to mid- to senior-levelprofessionals at different stages of their careers. I have aBachelors Degree from Ryerson University, a Post-graduate Diploma in CareerDevelopment from Conestoga College, and am a former instructor at SheridanCollege. I have contributed to several career, resume and cover letter books,and has been spotlighted in the college textbook, Business Communication: Product& Process (5th Edition).

Among myformer employers is the United Nations (New York), an opportunity that helpedme to understand and work with people from diverse cultures. I recently launched NCEInstitute, an online community providing resources to job seekers and newimmigrants.

COSTI Immigrant Services contracted me to deliver a 6-month pilot project, Pathwayto Success for Women – Life Skills and Career Options Program. This program was developed to assistimmigrant visible minority women achieve personal and economic success andintegration.

As a founding memberof Career Professionals of Canada, I am on the organization’sAdvisory Board and is also a Research Advisor. As a result of my worksupporting the Canadian career industry, I was awarded the organization’shighest recognition, Outstanding Canadian Career Leader on two separateoccasions. I am also a member and mentor at Career Directors International and volunteer on its International Committee.

Highly-trained Immigrants and newcomers to Canada find it difficult finding jobs in their fields. They are often met with "You don't have Canadian experience." This is a Catch-22 situation as they need a job to get the experience, and they need experience to get the job. This book gives them advice and strategies to articulate their international experience and other positive qualities to convince employers to hire them
