Award winning author, Shirley Kiger Connolly, daughter of 1940s crime writer, CH KIGER, enjoys penning historical fiction romances. In her spare time, Shirley writes books filled with lighthearted reflections and is a line and content editor. She majored in English and Journalism, and is a graduate of ICL. As one of the winners of the 2014 OKRW-IDA awards for SECOND TIME PROMISE, Shirley was also nominated for the RONE award with THAT IMPOSSIBLE DREAM which also joined in the finals for the CAROLYN AWARDS through RWA. Shirley's SAY GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY finalized in the OKRWA-IDA in 2012. Her NOT QUITE AN ANGEL novel became a finalist for the 2015 RONE awards. <p>The Race for Flugal Farm is the first book in a trilogy that charters the lives and adventures of the inhabitants of the Riding Stables at Flugal Farm.</p><div>Times had been hard for George Flugal and his wife, and this inevitably resulted in him having to sell the majority of the school's horses until he was left its just four: Pogo, Biff, Troy and an ex-racehorse called Chance.</div><div>The horses who along with a young stable hand Rachelle Perkins, a dog named Nugget, a pig called Nigel and an old family friend Uncle Dave, make up the Flugal's extended family.</div><div>When they find themselves facing the possibility of having the farm repossessed by the bank, and bought out by the odious Mr Williams, have to pull together to enter a carriage drive in order to win the prize money and save their way of life.</div>
Story Behind The Book
The "I See God' books that I've written were based on real life experiences I have had and how God showed me so much about my life through every single circumstance. He is so real. I believe He wants us to see just how real He is. Whether it's a trial, or a good day, or a moment when we need to make an important decision, He wants us to see that He is there to help us through whatever it is.
