Amazon Author Profile

Though Tomblin enjoyed writing stories at an early age, he spent a good deal of the 90s earning a B.A in Psychology and a Master's in Information Technology. His creative outlet came in the form of penning song lyrics instead of prose. After finally having a bit of life under his belt, he turned his attention back to fiction, writing several short stories that can be found both online and in print. The release of his novella, Riverside Blues, by award-winning publisher Earthling Publications was met with glowing reviews. While he also enjoys photography, reading, and playing guitar, he gets the most joy from being a husband and father.

The Fall of Atlantis by Marion Zimmer Bradley
"This is the first book that I've read of Marion Zimmer Bradley, and I've not read the famous series 'Mists of Avalon' of the author's. It was somewhat of a travail to be able to finish reading this book for me. There is no doubt that the author is a " Read more of this review »

“Then there are the simple things. The way she fits against my side when we’re sitting together. How she can silence my addled thoughts with one look. The sound of my name from her lips. The way she can make a moment, any moment, a thousands times better when she is there. How the simplest pleasures in life become exciting with the promise of sharing the experience with her.”
Erik Tomblin

“When your stomach turns somersaults every time you see your love interest, when you can go without eating for half a day because you can't think of anything else, and when the sound of her voice blocks out every possible distraction each time you hear it...then logic's role becomes a very minor one.”
Erik Tomblin, The Space Between

“Sometimes you have to know what you're willing to sacrifice to be the person you are meant to be.”

“Passion makes a person stop eating, sleeping, working, feeling at peace. A lot of people are frightened because, when it appears, it demolishes all the old things it finds in its path.

No one wants their life thrown into chaos. That is why a lot of people keep that threat under control, and are somehow capable of sustaining a house or a structure that is already rotten. They are the engineers of the superseded.

Other people think exactly the opposite: they surrender themselves without a second thought, hoping to find in passion the solutions to all their problems. They make the other person responsible for their happiness and blame them for their possible unhappiness. They are either euphoric because something marvelous has happened or depressed because something unexpected has just ruined everything.

Keeping passion at bay or surrendering blindly to it - which of these two attitudes is the least destructive?

I don't know.”
Paulo Coelho, Eleven Minutes

“We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”
Joseph Campbell

“He had never wanted to know anything about the part of her intimate life that he had not shared with her. Why should he take an interest now, still less take offense at it? Anyhow, he asked himself, what is an intimate secret? Is that where we hide what's most mysterious, most singular, most original about a human being? Are her intimate secrets what make Chantal the unique being he loves? No. What people keep secret is the most common, the most ordinary, the most prevalent thing, the same thing that everybody has: the body and its needs, its maladies, its manias-constipation for instance, or menstruation. We ashamedly conceal these intimate matters not because they are so personal but on the contrary, they are so lamentably impersonal.”
Milan Kundera

“You were unsure which pain is worse -- the shock of what happened or the ache for what never will.”

Nikki Nielsen Ha - never judge a book by its movie. I love it. Just wanted to tell you that my husband read your book until one o'clock this morning and then he woke me up because he HAD to talk about it :) I knew it would affect him the same way it affected me!
