Yecheilyah Ysrayl

My name is Yecheilyah (e-see-lee-Yah) Ysrayl, also known as EC. I was born on the south side of Chicago IL, and discovered my love for writing at an early age. As a result I began writing early in life and soon developed a love for poetry. I attended Harper High School on Chicago’s south side where I was placed in ILCA (International Language Career Academy), although I kept my focus on writing. During my junior year in High School I took courses at Robert Morris College in downtown Chicago after being placed in Advanced Placement Literature, where I also took part in the writing of plays and skits for school assemblies, eventually landing a summer job in that area. After High School I attended Chicago State University where I met my husband and studied Technical and Professional writing before moving on to the medical field. I studied Medical Assistance and graduated from Everest College in 2008. That same year began my spiritual walk, joining Israylite Heritage organization, dedicated to restoring the forgotten heritage to the forgotten people; (www.hebrewisraelites.org) the so called blacks and certain Latinos in the America’s and abroad. In 2009 I moved to Shreveport Louisiana where I again focused my attention to my first love: writing. Only this time merged with a spiritual edge. I began performing at the Naked Bean Café in Shreveport La and published my first book, a collection of poetry, ‘From the depths of a Woman’s Heart', in 2010. In July of 2012 I released my second collection of poetry, ‘From when I was a Black Girl’, which is available now @: http://www.thebookpatch.com/BookStoreDetails.aspx?BookID=6884&ID=ad34ee6d-1367-4dcf-a1a9-0561a6207110 ‘The Aftermath’, released this same year, is my first novel.
