Interview

1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I'm in my late 40s, and have been married to the same person for nearly 25 years.  Among my past jobs are educator, computer technician, tutor, computer programmer, and part-time chef.

2. Describe your book ‘I, Walter’ in 30 words or less.

I, Walter is the life story of Walter Crofter, a Brit born near the end of Elizabethan rule.

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Learning some of the lessons surrounding the characters

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?

Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, Jules Verne, Mark Twain, Edgar Allan Poe.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

Since the book came out, I have used Twitter and FaceBook; I've been on more than one blogtour; I've actively pursued B&N through one of their PNW sites, and one of their distributors; I've made the book available to many librarian associations, book fairs, etc..;  I have had several giveaways on Freado, Goodreads, NetGalley; and I've blogged on the book's website (www.accidentalauthor.ca).

6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

I'm a husband and father.  I do everything around my house including acting as courier and caregiver to seniors.  Writing comes in during my 'down' times, and acts as my release valve on the day's stressors.

7. What are you working on next?

I, Walter is the first book in a series called 'The Eternity Series'.  Books Two and three are currently percolating their way to the surface, and are being written.
