I'm brand new to the writing industry. My first and only book The Wonder was released May of 2011. As a fiction (some say Christian fiction) writer, most of my material comes from the people around me. It took me several years to complete my book because of other duties like; raising children, working, and being a wife. However, once I made up my mind to finish The Wonder it didn't take much time.

"I am strong, and my flash is bright, And I will defend you and make things all right." These are the magic words to call upon Manner-Man - a superhero who can help control bullies and teach children ways to be considerate of others. Manner-Man arrives, shouting "To the Rescue", helping children learn about sharing and warning about not 'hitting with words.' He teaches that if someone starts pushing, just shout out "not nice!" Meet the children who form the Manner-Man team and find out how to join! Manner-Man incorporates messages and characters found within some of Cannon's earlier books - helping children learn how to cope with bullies and look within themselves for their inner superhero! This is the fifth rhyming children's book by this award-winning author whose other bestselling books include Gimme-Jimmy, The Magic Word, Peter and the Whimper-Whineys and Santa's Birthday Gift. Former teacher Sherrill S. Cannon has won a dozen awards for her four previous rhyming books and is also the author of six published and internationally performed plays for elementary school children. She has been called "a modern day Dr.Seuss" - GMTA Review. Publisher's website: http://sbpra.com/SherrillSCannon

The Wonder explores finding the right fit in every area of one’s life at a certain point in it. Meesha Porch, is tired of the “give until it hurts” messages on Sunday mornings and her aunt’s well-meaning meddling throughout the week. She is disappointed when her search for a new church leaves her drained. After a painful break with her long-term boyfriend, she has more questions than ever about love and faith. Meesha soon finds herself missing the very things she was so eager to leave. Will she be able to reconcile her desire for independence with her longing to belong somewhere and with someone? Will she ever discover The Wonder that God has waiting for her?
"Good book! I loved it! I felt numerous emotions while reading The Wonder. It made me laugh and cry. I can relate to many of the circumstances in the book. The love of family and friends were incredibly present, as well as the love of God. I loved how the characters in the story were able to work through their trials and tribulations by prayer and faith. This is a truly inspiring book."
-Altha R.

"This is a fun book that will have you laughing and thinking. Once you start reading it, you can't put it down. It touched on questions that I have regarding my beliefs and what I was seeking at the time. I have started reading it again. I can't wait until you publish another. God has given you a gift to share with others."
-Linda M.

"I absolutely loved the book. It was such an easy read that took me through the entire range of emotion. There were times when I wanted to step in the book and tell a couple of the characters what I thought. It was like you were standing in the back of the room watching every event. I could truly identify with the characters, actually, there were things in the book that I%u2019m going through myself. I can%u2019t wait for the next book(s) to comes out."
-Cynthia H.

"I loved The Wonder. I could relate to all of the characters in your book and it was humorous. I hated for it to end. My daughter is now reading it and loves it too."
-Pamela G.

%u201CBeing a member of the male species, I did not find any joy or pleasure out of reading fiction. My interest lie in Military History, but that all changed after reading The Wonder. I found myself glued to each page every opportunity that I had to read each sentence and paragraph. I found myself nodding my head and agreeing with each of the characters as I reflected upon my youth growing up in the North Carolina churches I was raised in; seeing each character in my own church from the Pastor down to the Deacons, Mothers and other members of the church. I ended up reading it twice (missing nuggets I did not see before). Indeed, Mrs. Jackson has found a reader/fan for life; can%u2019t wait until the next book comes out!%u201D
-Bryan Winfred Massey, Sr.
 Professor
University of Central Arkansas
