I am a 1st time publisher – w/2 books out at the same time. The other book is called `Successful Habits`. I wrote these books because I felt I had something to share. I figured that if you have learned anything at all in almost ¾ of a century of living – you should share it.
After all – even an idiot should have learned SOMETHING in all that time! The idea is that the reader would not make all the same dumb mistakes you did.
Who knows, maybe someone could learn something from my 74 years of life’s experience. If so, than the book is worth reading.
At any rate, you will get a chuckle out of it!!
<p>Have you ever seen a "work of art" worth millions, which looks like something your child just brought home from school?</p><p>The dual perspective of "Beauty Is in the Eye of the Beholder" and just a little bit of "The Emperor's New Clothes" is evident in this clever artwork story of a child who paints a fingerpaint print in class and then loses it in the wind on the way home.</p><p>Illustrated from the point of view of a child, whose identity is left to the imagination of the reader since all of the illustrations are what the child sees, the fingerpaint print is interpreted by official "judges" as well as by bystanders. Should people be influenced by what others see, or use their own self-esteem to make their own judgments? This coloring book version allows children to illustrate their own version of the book, and even to create a "masterpiece" of their own!</p><p>This is the fourth rhyming children's coloring book by this award-winning author, whose other bestselling books include David's ADHD, My Little Angel, The Golden Rule, Mice & Spiders & Webs...Oh My!, Manner-Man, Gimme-Jimmy, The Magic Word, Peter and the Whimper-Whineys and Santa's Birthday Gift.</p><p><strong>About The Author:</strong> Former teacher Sherrill S. Cannon has won over 100 awards for her previous rhyming books and coloring books, and is also the author of 7 published and internationally performed plays for elementary school children. She has been called "a modern day Dr. Seuss." - GTMA Review</p>
This book was written as a result of my sister saying one day, “You know that to have lived for over 70 years, we must have learned something! That got me thinking: I was raised in Hawaii – before it was a state; I lived in France for two years as a young man; I have been thrown off a train in Germany in a small town – in the middle of nowhere with no money, and no German language skills; I have been to 16 countries, and about a dozen islands; I taught English on a Greek island for a few weeks – and did so having absolutely no experience as a teacher; and actually had surgeons laughing during a heart procedure. I have been married for 49 years (same woman – poor soul) and have lived from counting quarters to go to McDonalds – to having meals in Paris, Rome – and Athens - -- and then back to McDonalds! You know, I would have to have been a moron not to learn certain things along the way! Now, assuming you are younger than I am – the odds are pretty good that you can learn something from my experiences, and rambling. I actually think you can! You have nothing to lose! Well, $7.00 something, I guess. Heck, you can lose that by buying one greasy hamburger – and a coke - that is no good for you anyway. Give me a shot! I’ll bet you will get some laughs, and – who knows – maybe a little insight. Go ahead!

He combines character, commitment to mission, inclusiveness, humility, and selflessness to a greater degree than in any other book I have read. This is a wonderful to read and inspiring book by a truly great writer. It will leave an impression for a long time to come. I am inspired.<br /><br /> Life is a journey, not a destination. Loved this book and found it to be inspiring. It reminds me that simple acts of kindness can make a huge difference to making people feel valued, loved and special.<br /><br /> I highly recommend this book and will read more from this author, Ron Millicent. <div style="width:100%;padding-top:10px;clear:both;"> <div class="reviews-voting-stripe" style="padding-right:15px;border-right-color:rgb(204,204,204);border-right-width:1px;border-right-style:solid;float:left;"> <div style="padding-bottom:5px;"><b class="tiny" style="color:rgb(102,102,102);white-space:nowrap;"><font size="1">Help other customers find the most helpful reviews</font></b></div> <div style="width:300px;"><a style="font-size:1px;"></a><span class="crVotingButtons"><span class="votingPrompt">Was this review helpful to you? </span><a class="votingButtonReviews yesButton" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/voting/cast/Reviews/2115/R454P24PJM14E/Helpful/1/ref=cm_cr_prvoteyn?ie=UTF8&target=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5hbWF6b24uY29tL3Jldmlldy8xNDkxMjAwNzIzL3JlZj1jbV9jcl9wcnZvdGVyZHI_X2VuY29kaW5nPVVURjgmc2hvd1ZpZXdwb2ludHM9MQ&token=FD7873EF08752DA4BB15C81219C8C37C4271D129&voteAnchorName=R454P24PJM14E.2115.Helpful.Reviews&voteSessionID=180-1022042-9041303"><span class="cmtySprite s_largeYes"><span><font color="#0066cc">Yes</font></span></span></a> <a class="votingButtonReviews noButton" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/voting/cast/Reviews/2115/R454P24PJM14E/Helpful/-1/ref=cm_cr_prvoteyn?ie=UTF8&target=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5hbWF6b24uY29tL3Jldmlldy8xNDkxMjAwNzIzL3JlZj1jbV9jcl9wcnZvdGVyZHI_X2VuY29kaW5nPVVURjgmc2hvd1ZpZXdwb2ludHM9MQ&token=D972764464AC1B3E30FA275FC409D402C3EF050A&voteAnchorName=R454P24PJM14E.2115.Helpful.Reviews&voteSessionID=180-1022042-9041303"><span class="cmtySprite s_largeNo"><span><font color="#0066cc">No</font></span></span></a></span></div> </div> <div style="float:left;"> <div style="padding-left:15px;"> <div style="white-space:nowrap;"><span class="tiny"><a style="font-size:1px;"></a><span class="reportingButton"><a class="reportingButton" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/voting/cast/Reviews/2115/R454P24PJM14E/Inappropriate/1/ref=cm_cr_prvoteyn?ie=UTF8&target=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5hbWF6b24uY29tL3Jldmlldy8xNDkxMjAwNzIzL3JlZj1jbV9jcl9wcnZvdGVyZHI_X2VuY29kaW5nPVVURjgmc2hvd1ZpZXdwb2ludHM9MQ&token=06748A523F90367424F94E62DF1E8181981974A6&voteAnchorName=R454P24PJM14E.2115.Inappropriate.Reviews&voteSessionID=180-1022042-9041303"><font color="#0066cc" size="1">Report abuse</font></a></span><font size="1"></font></span><span style="color:rgb(204,204,204);">|</span> <span class="tiny"><a href="http://www.amazon.com/review/R454P24PJM14E/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=1491200723&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag="><font color="#0066cc" size="1">Permalink</font></a></span></div> <div style="padding-top:5px;white-space:nowrap;"><a href="http://www.amazon.com/review/R454P24PJM14E/ref=cm_cr_pr_cmt?ie=UTF8&ASIN=1491200723&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=#wasThisHelpful"><span class="swSprite s_comment"><span><font color="#0066cc">Comment</font></span></span></a> <a href="http://www.amazon.com/review/R454P24PJM14E/ref=cm_cr_pr_cmt?ie=UTF8&ASIN=1491200723&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=#wasThisHelpful"><font color="#0066cc">Comment</font></a></div> </div> </div> <div style="clear:both;"> </div> </div> </div> <p><a></a><br /> </p> <div style="margin-left:.5em;"> <div style="margin-bottom:.5em;"><span style="margin-right:5px;"><span class="swSprite s_star_5_0" title="5.0 out of 5 stars"><span>5.0 out of 5 stars</span></span> </span><span style="vertical-align:middle;"><b>great book</b>, August 27, 2013</span></div> <div style="margin-bottom:.5em;"> <div> <div style="float:left;">By</div> <div style="float:left;"><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/A37UW2QKQDZ8D2/ref=cm_cr_pr_pdp"><span style="font-weight:bold;"><font color="#0066cc">Millie Parker</font></span></a> - <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/cdp/member-reviews/A37UW2QKQDZ8D2/ref=cm_cr_pr_auth_rev?ie=UTF8&sort_by=MostRecentReview"><font color="#0066cc">See all my reviews</font></a></div> </div> <div style="clear:both;"> </div> </div> <div class="tiny" style="margin-bottom:.5em;"><b><span class="h3color tiny">This review is from: </span>Lessons of Life: Life is a Journey (Volume 1) (Paperback)</b></div> A small book with everything I was looking for.
