Description

Have you ever awoken from a vivid dream and wondered which side of waking was real?

Burt Higgins' retirement is not going well. His children have grown, and his wife has gone off to earn a late-life degree, leaving him alone in his sprawling suburban home. With too much time on his hands, he broods on the state of the world, obsessively following the worst of cable news and the Internet. Increasingly angry at the state of affairs, he nurtures a fantasy that a dark lord from another realm has foisted these problems on humankind. If only he could transport to that world, he'd confront the demon and use the magic found there to defeat the beast and end despair forever.

On a particularly bad news day, while housebound in the midst of a snowstorm, he retreats to his study to shut out the world and immerse himself in his books. When, on a whim, he lights a candle purchased in an obscure Prague curiosity shop, a magical guide appears and offers to take him on whatever quest he chooses. When he asks to become a hero in a fantasy realm, he discovers a more complex world than he expected, and battling evil with magic turns out to be far from his greatest challenge.

EVOLVED PUBLISHING PRESENTS a specualtive fantasy adventure sure not just to entertain you, but to make you consider your life, your dreams, your goals. Story Behind The Book

Forgotten is the sequel to Lockdown. "The Lockdown has failed. The AM13 virus is spreading out of control and there doesn’t seem to be any way of stopping it. The Government announces its new plan—a sanctuary in an area completely untouched by the infected—as long as you can get there unscathed of course..." The book centers around 3 main characters; Ethan - an OCD sufferer who's obsession with cleanliness might just kill him, Alyssa - an overly confident daydreamer who knows she has all the necessary skills to survive and Dr. Jones - the scientist who is absolutely going to cure the AM13 virus...isn't he?

Reviews

"After completing Ms. Sand's first book on the zombie apocalypse, I had to read the second. This also is a great read. The virus has spread, people are dying, and zombies are real. Even an older person like me, who once did not understand the attraction, does now. The characters, Leah, Ethan, and many others come to life on the pages. I found myself pulling for them. AM13 was spreading out of control. Death surrounded them and those they love. Samie Sands has tremendous talent which is skillfully demonstrated in both Lockdown and Forgotten. Can't wait for the next."

"I loved Lockdown, so I was looking forward to the sequel and it did not disappoint! Forgotten is filled with great characters that drive the plot along in a fast paced exciting way. I read a lot of zombie apocalyptic books, and this series is one of my favourites - I can't wait for the next installment! 5*, highly recommended!"
