About

As someone who loves history and scouting around, when I moved to the Mississippi Delta six years ago, my need for discovery was fulfilled. For several years while living on the grounds of Parchman Penitentiary, the state's oldest prison, I drive around the Delta finding old people with stories to tell. Each night I came home and worked for hours digesting and trying to put together the shocking stories I was collecting. The first of my efforts was a 600+ page book with over 1,000 footnotes. Since then, I've been doing further research and honing down my initial work so these stories can be told. My background is in journalism and communication. I've also worked as an acquistions and development editor for Prentice Hall where I had the opportunity to learn some things about book publishing.
