I was a sportswriter for the Passaic-Clifton, NJ, Herald News, as well as a freelance advertising copywriter.  I am the author of two novels: As the Twig is Bent, a mystery thriller,andEscaping Innocence (A Story ofAwakening), a coming-of-age novel set in the turbulent ‘60s.  In addition, I co-authored (with MannyLuftglass)Gone Fishin’ with Kids (How toTake Your Kid Fishing and Still be Friends)and recently publishedA “Real” Man’s Guide to Divorce (First, youbend over and…).  I was aprofessional fly-fishing guide in the Catskill Mountains of New York, and hashad several fly-fishing short stories published in the Mid Atlantic Fly Fishing Guide.  I recently finished a second mystery, a follow up toAs the Twig is Bent, entitled Opening Day,which is set in Roscoe, NY,where I was a guide.  It is the second in what is now the Matt Davis Mystery Series.

Story Behind The Book

I was driving a limousine, selling real estate, and painting houses, when I read &quot;All of My Friends Are Going to be Strangers,&quot; by Larry McMurty. It told of a &quot;blocked&quot; writer, who determined to write at least one paragraph a day. I adopted the philosophy, and my wife, Becky, bought me a half-dozen spiral notebooks. The rest, as they say, is history...
