Story Behind The Book

The art community on the Delmarva Peninsula has reached a 'critical mass,' where there are enough quality artists working in wide varieties of media in a broad enough geographic area to warrant a guidebook. Visitors to the region know a few hot spots, but miss so many other artists, because they don't know where to find them. Even the locals were surprised at how many art colonies and studios there are and how many fine artists and artisans are inspired by the light, the water, and the land on Delmarva. The book is more than a list of galleries. The descriptions convey the personalities of the owners and artists, and the full color photographs preview what you'll find at each place. The events are largely those of interest to a cultural audience, but the Eastern Shore's sense of fun is strong, so things like the annual Punkin' Chunkin' and Delmarva Chicken Festival are included, too!
