Story Behind The Book
Erin L George, 35, of Troy, NH, has published her first poetry chapbook, Dandelion Dance. Dandelion Dance is a 70-page collection of selected poems about the people who have touched her life.
George began her writing career as a reporter for the Suncook-Hooksett Banner. She has since worked as a reporter for the Brattleboro Reformer and a writer for Monadnock Family Services. George has been published in several journals and magazines since 1995 and has received several awards from the New England Press Association for her work as a journalist. She holds a journalism degree from Keene State College.
"I've been writing poetry since the late 90s," George said. "The first poem I wrote was about a dandelion that happened to be growing under a picnic table I was sitting at. That's where the name for the book came from."
