Our past history in America has always intrigued me and I read many stories that took place during the 19th century. I found myself wishing I could go back there. And why not? In the pages of a book I could weave a magic spell, transporting my heroine back in time. That idea lay idle in a steno pad for over thirty years, while life kept happening. Then, something tragic occurred in my life. The voice I'd been blessed with and that had entertained so many, was attacked by a disease that slowly, insidiously, stole it from me. But one talent remained. Now there was no reason to put it off, so I began my journey with THE HOUSE ON SLOCUM ROAD.
