I grew up as a PK (preacher's kid) in Louisville, Kentucky, during the 1960s. Sit-in's, the sexual revolution, pot, and the Vietnam War were brought vividly to life on the CBS Evening News. While the country seemed to spin out of control, I spun stories in my head.
After graduating from Rowan University in New Jersey where I earned a BA in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice, I attended the Philadelphia Institute for Paralegal Training. I returned to Central Kentucky and worked as a real estate and tax paralegal.
My muse simmered on the back burner until my two daughters left for college. Five days after completing the first draft of THE RUBY BROOCH, my husband died. The manuscript went into a drawer where it remained for ten years. Healing was a very slow process, but two weddings and five grandchildren have a way of putting life into perspective. Following the birth of my second grandchild, I found my writer's voice again.
I'm a marathoner and live in Lexington, Kentucky. I'm blessed with a wonderful and supportive family and circle of friends who have encouraged me and celebrated each and every step of my journey.
