Could you tell us a little bit about
yourself?
I'm originally from a suburb of Washington, D.C.,
and I currently live in Charlotte, North Carolina. I am the author of two
novels-Celebrities for Breakfast, and Radium Halos. I have
been writing for about 10 years.
Describe your book ‘Celebrities for
Breakfast- a romantic comedy’ in 30 words or less.
Judith’s 12-year-old daughter
has an Olympic-sized crush on the biggest egomaniac in Hollywood. Soon, Judith
falls for him, too, until he hires her to plan his wedding!
What was the hardest part of writing your
book?
The hardest part was the editing, but
it was also the most rewarding. Once the first draft was complete, I spent
months on polishing and revising. More editing followed after my test readers
gave their opinions!
What books have had the greatest influence on
you?
As a writer and author, many books
about the craft of writing have influenced me. A few of the more noteworthy:
On Writing, by Sol Stein
Word Painting: A Guide to Writing More Descriptively, by Rebecca
McClanahan
Story, by Robert McKee
Briefly share with us what you do to market
your books?
I promote them on Twitter and Facebook,
by reviews from other bloggers and authors, and locally and regionally
with book signings. I also use the BookBuzzr widgets on my blog, and include
both novels in their book-winning site, fReado.
How do you spend your time when you are not
writing?
I enjoy spending my time listening to
music, dancing, visiting my two grown sons, and working a great day
job which affords me ample opportunities for people-watching.
What are you working on next?
I am currently working on a Civil War
short story, a magazine article, and a new novel. Also, I am waiting to hear
from an agent in Turkey regarding translation rights.
