Interview

Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I currently reside in Richmond, VA. My favorite color is pink (this is a very important fact about me-smile). When I am not writing I am spending time with my son, who keeps me very busy with sports. I am a chapter queen with the international "dis-organization" known as the Red Hat Society. My chapter, the Ladies of Life Love & Laughter, recently celebrated our 5th anniversary. I also serve as an official RHS Ambassador for this amazing social society (to learn more visit www.redhatsociety.com). I enjoy watching sports-my favorite teams are the Philadelphia Eagles & the Boston Celtics.I am a very social person and love meeting and talking to new people.

Describe your book ‘Skeletons in Her Closet’ in 30 words or less.

Skeletons In Her Closet is an exciting novel that will take readers on an emotional journey. It is writing in a way that readers can easily relate to each character in some fashion (I think I did that with three words to spare).

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Providing enough details that will paint vivid images in the minds of the readers, creating characters and situations that are believable and that the readers can identify with.

What books have had the greatest influence on you?

I started off reading anything that was by Zane and Toni Morrison. After reading a lot of their works I was like 'okay I can do this but with my only little spin on it ofcourse',

Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

As a new author, I am just venturing out and taking advantage of any and all marketing opportunities that come my way. I definitely promote and share a lot about my books via social media sites (Facebook, Good Reads, Shelfari), I also try to participate in campaigns that are through through the online book club community, etc..

How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

Shopping... I am addicted to shoes. I am online a lot looking for ways to  spread the word about my writing, with the L3 Ladies and family and friends.

What are you working on next?

I just released my second novel, Seven Days Seven Nights: More Skeletons Reveald It is the 2nd Installment in the McKenzie Series. I am also working out details for an internet radio show. The purpose of the show is to create a platform to discuss everyday issues that we all face or often time want to discuss but do not have the arena to do so. I am also already working on my third novel, it's something about this writing thing that I can't break away from (smile).
