Denise Krochta

I am an author and a radio talk show host.  I self published my book and do all the marketing for it.  My radio show content is an extension of the subject matter of my book.

Interview

Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am an author and radio talk show host.  My show “Addicted to Addicts: Survival 101”  is my way of helping others.  It is support for those who love addicts and alcoholics.  From my own experience with loving addicts I have a passion to help others to, hopefully, navigate through the chaos in a more peaceful and efficient way.

Describe your book ‘sweat: A Practical Plan For Keeping Your Heart Intact While Loving an Addict’ in 30 words or less.

My book “Sweat: A Practical Plan for Keeping Your Heart Intact While Loving an Addict”, is just that.  It is a plan I developed for myself to navigate through the chaos and drama of loving addicts and alcoholics and to help keep some sanity in my life.  It is full of simple but not easy tools that anyone can use.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

The most difficult part of writing the book for me was to keep it short, concise, and easy to read.  My target audience was the millions of people worldwide who, like me, were living the chaos and drama of loving an addict.  One of our main characteristics is No Focus (except on everything about the addict).

What books have had the greatest influence on you?

The Little Prince (Antoine de St. Exupery) and The Power of Now (Echart Tolle) would probably be the two books with the greatest influence on me.

Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

My book is on thousands of online bookstore websites.  I write a blog that sends traffic to my Amazon page.  There is a link to my Amazon page on my radio show page and I have the ebook version of my book on my corporate website. I am also a speaker.

How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

When not writing or marketing my book I spend most of my time walking (all over the world).

What are you working on next?

My next project is a self help book with another plan to navigate through another type of life crisis I am, actually, experiencing now.  When I see how it unfolds, I’ll  be able to finish the project!
