1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I live in Oregon with my wife and family. Before law school, I majored in journalism and wanted to write novels. Now, after a number of years as a lawyer, I'm finally getting around to writing those novels.
2. Describe your book ‘OATH TO DEFEND’ in 30 words or less.
Lawyer Drake honors his oath to defend his country by stopping a terrorist mastermind and his men from detonating a nuclear device at a dam high in the Oregon Cascades.
3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?
OATH TO DEFEND is the sequel to THE ASSASSIN'S LIST, the first book in the Adam Drake series. The hardest part was figuring out how to keep my mother happy and develop a romantic involvement for Adam Drake.
4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?
I've always read thrillers and my top three all-time favorites are Forsythe's THE DAY OF THE JACKAL, Fleming's FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE and Silva's THE KILL ARTIST.
5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?
My marketing efforts have been fairly minimal to this point, mainly word of mouth, reviews and some KDP events.
6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?
When I'm not writing I read, keep an eye on political and international news and follow Formula One racing. I enjoy cooking for my wife, finding new wines to drink and watching the Oregon Ducks play football.
7. What are you working on next?
The third book in the Adam Drake series is with my editor at the moment, and I'm doing the research for my next novel that I hope to release next spring.
