Interview

1. Tell us a little about yourself

Claudette Alexander is obsessed with love and romance. As a teenager growing up in St.Lucia she was fascinated with the Mills and Boon series and always envisioned some Prince coming down some mountain to rescue her heart.

Her other passion is fighting for the rights of the underdog. She did a good bit of fighting as a union president. These days she is fighting to empower people with knowledge on how to live happily with chronic conditions.

2. Describe your book SUNRISE FROM AN ICY HEART: A MEMOIR

SUNRISE FROM AN ICY HEART: A MEMOIR is about love, betrayal, grief, the joys and tears of raising loving sons, and rising above the strangling odds that face immigrants

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?

At my age the memory is starting to slip away and trying to remember some of the stories from the past can be difficult. Some names and places I have forgotten.

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?

A NEW EARTH by Eckhart Tolle has helped me in many areas, SIMPLE STEPS TO IMPOSSIBLE DREAMS by Steven Scott and books by Wayne Dwyer, Tony Robinson and Les Brown.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book

I have been using Facebook and I have joined some marketing sites like “AskDavid”
Fatfairyfantastic and Bookbuzz.  I have created a few videos and prints to spread the word around. I am really excited about my latest video a book trailer: http://youtu.be/PHGllrrXeVA

6.How do you spend your time when you are not writing.

Three times a week I go to the hospital for four hours to do dialysis so I can still remain among the land of the living. During that time I do a lot of reading or watch
TV. Other times I teach workshops on Living Healthy with Chronic Conditions. Other times I do fun things like go to concerts, horse racing or casino.

7. What are you working on next

I am learning about marketing and that is a big job. I am having fun building my website
www.claudettealexander.com and educating the public on living healthy with chronic conditions.
