Donya Ture

I am an author excited about sharing ideas and concepts that are dynamic and are uplifting in some manner. I have a tendency with all that I write, to juxtapose images, eras or reality with imaginal content. I find it fulfilling to write content that is both fiction or non-fiction in nature.  I enjoy the mystical element within life and have a penchant for including some kind of spiritual dimension to either my characters or the environment in which my characters exist.

Interview

1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am a social worker and I facilitate adoptions.  I match families with children and write up their histories to make sure the families are compatible with children's needs.  I love art and have studied illustration, writing and dance as well.  I am also an avid exerciser who meditates daily and practices yoga as well.

2. Describe your book The Myth of Heroe: The Art of Living for Adults and Teens in 30 words or less.

The Myth of Heroe is a mythological story about a child who is abandoned and has to find a way to survive.  The myth is interspersed with lessons about life which mirror the plot and storyline of the myth.

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?

The most difficult part of writing The Myth of Heroe was choosing what lessons I thought were pertinent and essential for youths and their parents.  Many of the lessons are frank, but from my experience in working with youths and the adults that care for them, I decided the topics needed to be addressed.  What I wanted to accomplish was to imagine having a child in my care that was now about to face the world.  I thought- "What would I want that child to know to ensure their success?"  My answer to that question resulted in the lessons that I chose.

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?

Some of my favorite authors are Joseph Goldsmith, Neville Goddard and their books are all about life, God and how to manifest a life of splendor.  These authors have encouraged me to believe that I can reach my highest goals in life.  Their books were inspiring and encouraged me when I experienced doubts and a lack of faith.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

I posted many of the chapters on my website and tweet quotes and excerpts on twitter.

6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

I exercise and am an amateur dancer as well.  I run workshops and spend time with friends and my two dogs, Bella and Palo and my cat Co-Co.

7. What are you working on next?

I will soon be working on the second series of a book called "Free Falling Into Your Higher Self".  Free Falling Into Your Higher Self is about our journey in this life and how impermeably we define ourselves and our experiences and how this results in creating barriers to growth in every facet of our lives. The next level of this series will focus on how to envision the best life ever and how we actualize what we envision.
