Sandi Perry

I'm an avid reader and started writing novels several years ago. I like giving voice to strong, interesting characters and telling their story in a fun way.

1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am an interior designer and I attribute the exotic settings I favor to the love I have of artwork and old cities. In The Art of Stealing, Rome, Florence, Monaco and the museums and streets in those beautiful cities are a vital part of the story.

2. Describe your book THE ART OF STEALING in 30 words or less.

Attempting to outwit each other on the cobblestone streets of Florence, a pair of thieves runs from the FBI, but they can't outrun love in this sexy, romantic caper.

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?

My thoughts about writing is that it is an all-consuming process and as such, it is difficult to quiet the characters that live in a writer's head. The hardest part is actually saying good-bye to my characters when a book is done.

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?

I read To Kill A Mockingbird as a young child and I always carried the quiet dignity of those characters in my heart.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

Marketing is actually the toughest part for me. I reach out to the avid readership of Goodreads and try to promote my books there. BookBuzzr has been a fantastic and affordable resource, as well.

6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

A real writer is an observer of life, and as such I am always aware of intriguing circumstances I might find myself in and am always on the look out for fascinating new characters. I also love to cook, and I do a little matchmaking too, because I'm a die-hard romantic!

7. What are you working on next?

My latest book is a bit of a departure from my genre of contemporary romance. I am writing about a fifty-plus woman who has dedicated her best years to her family and wonders who she is now that they've grown. She sets off to discover how to to re-invent herself after decades of putting others first.
