About
Shena Little Bear is not only my pen name; it is also my Native American name. I am Cherokee, Lakota, Osage, Irish, Scottish, German, and Welch. In 1978, I graduated from State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri, but I started writing during my High School years. I have worked for three newspapers: the Miami Herald, Nevada State Journal, and Reno Evening Gazette. During the 1990’s, I was the editor and publisher of a monthly Native American publication. For years, I have written poetry and several of my poems have been published around the world. I am a lifetime member of the International Poet Society. Currently, I am writing books for readers of all ages. To date, I have three books published: VISIONS, PRAYERS, and POEMS; HOW THE LONE WOLF GOT HER NAME; and MY PAL LITTLE SNOWFLAKE.
