Description
Amanda, a well-educated young woman of mixed racial blood, has tired of
being an exotic club dancer and has begun a new career as a chiropractor
and licensed masseuse. Having been infected with the AIDS virus by her
boyfriend, who has since died from the disease, she overcomes her
trepidation to embark on a vengeful mission to get even with men for
their lustful pursuits. Believing she will soon die, AIDS has become her
weapon of mass destruction as she is driven to take with her as many as
come willingly, despite strong protests from her good friend and
business partner, Deleesa.
The Story Behind This Book
Every 9 minutes someone in the US becomes newly infected with HIV. More than 1.2 million Americans are living with the disease, and more than half a million people with HIV/AIDS in the US have died since the epidemic began in 1981.
This being the harsh reality, every possible means of getting the message to those who need it most should be used.
I was motivated to write this compelling novel after watching a close acquaintance suffer with the disease and threaten to wreak vengeance on all of mankind. However, the real-life "Amanda" wisely chose to defuse her anger and trepidation in other ways, with her fight being taken up by her lesbian twin sister, through whom the story is being told.
Praise and Reviews
"Come Die With Me" by L
Guy Burton has caught the attention of the president of Bennett College for
Women in Greensboro, N.C., Dr. Julianne Malveaux, Ph.D. She recommends that
every young person should read this book as a public health alert and wakeup
call for our youth who continue to engage in indiscriminate unrestrained
sex.
