Driving down the rocky path I saw the overgrown grass, weeds and poison ivy overtaking the outer perimeter of the bushes. The smell of mildew, the stench of the dried bones of animals killed by cars along this dirt road coming up from the ground, the sadness on the faces of the drivers in the cars behind us; you could feel the pain and sorrow. As you looked inside the cars and saw the faces of the drivers, you began to wonder what they were thinking, their thoughts and feelings as they travelled down life’s highway, possibly for the very last time. What stories lie behind the faces behind the wheel of each car? What stories lie hidden? Faces…so, so many stories. These are true stories based on real life events. The names of the characters have been changed and some of the events might be different but they are meant to make the reader really think.
If you have, as I have, ever wandered through a cemetery wondering what stories the souls would tell that are behind, or under, the headstones then Fran Lewis may have some answers for you. In a well-crafted collection of stories she has given voices to a few chosen souls allowing them to finally speak and share their stories. It is both poignant and bizarre as you experience their last few days with their voices as your guide, educating you on their mistakes as well as their successes. I give credit to Fran as she uses this medium, sorry for the pun, to help educate as well as entertain the reader with her stories of pain, murder, and revenge. At times, while reading this collection, I wondered about those in my own past who suffered the blunt and sharp edge of my impatience, prejudice and ignorance. Our lives, all of our lives, touch each other in one fashion or another, Fran’s chilling work challenges us to remember that or suffer the consequences. Another fine work from Fran Lewis, I give her 5 STARS!!

Fran Lewis is a unique Book Reviewer who writes book reviews in her own style.She has written several other good books but this is the very first book written in the murder mystery genre. She has done a terrific job and after reading her new novel I am sure we have not seen the last of Fran's Mysteries. I think Fran has found her niche.
