About
Born in London 1933, I went to Australia and lived there 46 years. I returned to live in UK in 2009 and have regained my life of writing. Whilst in Australia, I founded one of Queensland's biggest writing associations. (Google: Gold Coast Writers Assn.) who celebrated their 20th Anniversary last year. Writing and being published since 1985 in Australia, my work appeared in popular magazines such as Women's Weekly, New Idea, Womens World, Take 5, Wellbeing, Prime Time and literary education publications. I loved entering writing competitions and won enough to pass along my experiences to others. I was able to help many budding authors by running competitions, writing classes, and individual reviewing their work. This activity was sadly interrupted by the terminal illness of my husband and only since I have returned to my homeland, have I resumed my literary career. My first book THE FOUR ELIZABETHS has been published by xlibrispublishing, and is also available as an ebook with Amazon Books.com and Barnes & Noble.com. I am nearly halfway through writing the sequel (working title ELIZABETH'S NEW LIFE) and hope to have this published by the end of 2011.

Have you ever awoken from a vivid dream and wondered which side of waking was real?

Burt Higgins' retirement is not going well. His children have grown, and his wife has gone off to earn a late-life degree, leaving him alone in his sprawling suburban home. Increasingly angry at the state of affairs, he nurtures a fantasy that a dark lord from another realm has foisted these problems on humankind. If only he could transport to that world, he'd confront the demon and use the magic found there to defeat the beast and end despair forever.

On a particularly bad news day, while housebound in the midst of a snowstorm, he retreats to his study to shut out the world and immerse himself in his books. When, on a whim, he lights a candle purchased in an obscure Prague curiosity shop, a magical guide appears and offers to take him on whatever quest he chooses. When he asks to become a hero in a fantasy realm, he discovers a more complex world than he expected, and battling evil with magic turns out to be far from his greatest challenge.

EVOLVED PUBLISHING PRESENTS a specualtive fantasy adventure sure not just to entertain you, but to make you consider your life, your dreams, your goals. Story Behind The Book
It occurred to me that so many people could not be confined on a small ship for more than eleven months without some friendships being formed. Neither could they be that long without smiling at something, terrible though their circumstances were. When I researched, I was amazed at the facts that emerged. A woman's 4month old baby was torn from her arms because there were no 'papers'. Convicts were allowed on deck every day. They shared the oranges and other fruit that was tossed aboard at Tenerife. They were allowed to participate in the 'Crossing the Equator' ritual, complete with Father Neptune. Women were also flogged. One of my four Elizabeths managed to get a letter of complaint over to Sir Arthur Phillip, and was consequently flogged. And Lieutenant William Faddy did spend a long time battling with cockroaches in his cabin! And all the convicts were given a special meal on the night of King GeorgeIII's birthday. Do read my book, and I'm sure you will join the ranks of people waiting for it's sequel.
