Lorhainne Eckhart

Every book I write has characters near and dear to my heart. The books I write are the ones I want to read, with characters I want to meet, (Okay maybe one or two I'd rather not), but with hero's to cheer for, and always love to hope for.

Interview

1. Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Well first, I am single mother of three wonderful children, one a special needs child. We live on beautiful sunny Salt Spring Island, and we spend a lot of time outdoors. I write edgy romantic suspense (Walk the Right Road Series), western romance (Finding Love ~ The Outsider Series), and the brand new series due out December 23 (The Wilde Brothers) and young adult mystery, and I warn my readers to expect the unexpected.

2. Describe your book ‘The Forgotten Child (Book 1 of Finding Love ~ THE OUTSIDER SERIES, A Contemporary Western Romance)’ in 30 words or less.

He wasn't looking to love again. But what he got was a woman who shook his lonely bitter world upside down, and touched him in a way no other woman could.

3. What was the hardest part of writing your book?

Writing comes very easy to me. So the only hard part I find is maintaining a balance with enough hours to write. Juggling being a single parent and an author requires structure and firm boundaries.

4. What books have had the greatest influence on you?

The Forgotten Child has had the biggest influence, I was surprised by the success after its release where it quickly climbed and landed in the #1 spot of Amazon bestseller list, for Westerns and Western Romance, and has remained there for over a year.

5. Briefly share with us what you do to market your book?

It's not just one thing. But I advertise every month on Romance book sites, I write two blogs and cross promote with other authors.

6. How do you spend your time when you are not writing?

Other than spending time with my children, I have a horse I work with, rollerblade with my children, yoga, and spending time down at the ocean. I'm also very active which helps me stay productive. I love martial arts, dancing, and then of course I always find time every night to read.

7. What are you working on next?

I have a brand new western romance series coming out December 23. The Wilde Brothers, the first book, The One.

Margaret Gordon was once a prominent  Seattle surgeon, until a slip of the knife leaves a young boy without a future. Margaret is fired and returns to her family ranch, the perfect spot to hide out from everyone and to lick her wounds, with no one around but her horse.
Margaret never considered herself a horse person. In truth, she understands horses better than people. And when the now-widowed Joe Wilde drives in one morning with a teenage boy and a horse with a problem, Margaret turns into that klutzy teenage misfit that silently carried a torch for Joe all through school. But when smooth-talking Joe convinces Margaret into working with the temperamental horse, she grows closer to his son Ryan, and soon learns the horse’s issues have more to do with father and son, and Ryan’s anxiety over the fact his father is now dating a woman who is only interested in the sexy Joe Wilde, and not his misfit of a son.
The only problem is Ryan wants Margaret to be his mother, so he takes matters into his own hands setting Margaret in his father’s path, every chance he gets. Even though sparks fly and sizzle between them Joe believes Margaret has despised him all his life, and decides all his  rebellious son needs is a mother. But when Joe proposes marriage to the wrong woman, his son takes off with a backpack and a feisty horse, into the wilderness.
Except to Joe’s surprise, it’s Margaret who saddles up her horse,  and heads off alone with him in over a hundred of miles of wilderness in a race against time and the elements to find his son. And with his son's life in jeopardy will that be enough for Joe and Margaret to put aside their differences and realize that the other is, The One?
