Description

Soon after Ann Ferguson and Ben Grable marry, when Ben unseals his adoption papers, their perfect life together is torn apart, sending the couple to opposite sides of the courtroom.
Representing Ann, lawyer Michael J. McConaughey (Mac) feels this is the case that could have far-reaching, judicial effects -- the one he's been waiting for.
Opposing counsel knows this high profile case happens just once in a lifetime.
And when the silent protest known as HUSH sweeps the nation, making international news, the CEO of one of the top ten pharmaceutical companies in the world plots to derail the trial that could cost his company billions.
Literary thriller HUSH not only questions one of the most controversial laws that has divided the nation for over four decades, but captures a story of the far-reaching ties of family that surpasses time and distance.

Throughout my life, I have had friends and acquaintances I have met who were adopted; some had unsealed their adoption papers and found one or both adoptive parents; others had not. In 2010, I feel fell in love with a man who had been adopted. He was gentle, loving, and kind, but had many questions and insecurities about his adoption. Unfortunately, there were no records to unseal. Even before this, I had wondered what it feel like to never know your adoptive parents, and if you did meet them, what would you say? Would there be anger? Remorse? Adding to this concept, I spent months researching not only adoption, but the Roe v Wade case, along with how the rubella vaccine was found. Putting all of the research together, Hush was born.

Hush is new, so 23 out of the 28 reviews have an overall rating of 4.7.  (Makes me tingle all over : )
