Stir, Laugh, Repeat
Most women have a thing about cookbooks. We own tons of them but how many do we actually use? Hardly any. Reason being that most of the recipes are either too complex with too expensive ingredients resulting in dishes way too fancy for average families. Thus began m search for an entertaining easy-to-use book of recipes to feed any family on any budget.. a book that would really be used instead of relegated to the back of the bookshelf. I quickly discovered that if such a book were to be found, I'd have to write it. And I did
Along the way, I sprinkled cooking stories from my childhood and life experience, plus tips and advice that we baby boomers got form our mothers and grandmothers before finding ourselves way too busy to pass onto our own offspring.
The Story Behind This Book
When my daughter told me that if I did nothing else in my life would I please write down my recipe for Banana Puddin and my other daughter told me she couldn't bring deviled eggs to Thanksgiving dinner because she couldn't peel the eggs without tearing up the eggs, I decided it was time to start measuring my recipes, write them down and add a few tips to help my daughters with their cooking. As I went along, I started remembering cooking events from my childhood and even adulthood, so I decided to add those to my list of recipes too. Stir, Laugh, Repeat was originally written for my kids only but when a friend proofread my work she insisted that I needed to share not just my recipes but my cooking mistake stories with others. She insisted that it was that great. Next came the search for a publisher. With my friend's help, I went to the internet in search of a publisher that would be interested in my book. The first publisher I came across was Tate Publishing. They wanted to read my manuscript. About a month later they sent my contract. I was now on my way to becoming something I had never dreamed of being, a Published Author. And I'm loving every minute.
