On a dare, Kylie Matthews lands smack in the middle of Solomon’sGate—Castle Creek’s new Christian dating agency—and she finds herself revealingexactly what she’s waiting for in a relationship: “The kiss that steals mybreath away.”

What she doesn’t reveal is her lack of self-esteem or her irrationalreaction to facial disfigurement. Neither is applicable to her quest to findthe perfect match. But that seemingly superficial malady becomes all-importantwhen her first agency-arranged date is Rick Dale—a man who is everything Kylieis searching for. He’s handsome, smart, fun. Rick has it all…including anangelic six-year-old daughter with severe scarring on one side of her face.

Hard at work founding a therapy camp for young female victims ofdeformity or disfigurement, Rick wants Kylie to be a part of those plans. She’dlove to say yes…but how can she, when every contact with the facility’sguests—and Rick’s own daughter—will make her violently ill?

Kylie is ready to admit theirrelationship doesn’t stand a chance, but she’s forgotten that God makes a waywhere there seems no way.

The Story Behind This Book

Writing Kylie's Kiss was a special blessing to me! I wanted to incorporate someone with a phobia of facial scarring, and of course have another character with facial scars. My interest in this topic came about after a happened on a website about a California therapy camp for teen girls with facial scars, deformities, or other disfigurations. The concept fascinated me, epecially after reading a few of the girls' stories. I HAD to use the concept in a book. Now...how to incorporate those things into a romance? Well, I was in the process of writing a series based around a Christian dating agency, so the opportunity was too good to pass up. Besides, who wouldn't need an angel in Kylie's situation: a girl with a phobia of facial scars, falling in love with a man who is not only in the process of founding a camp like the one I mentioned above, but also has a precious little daughter with severe facial scarring? Read the book to see how it works out...

Praise and Reviews

Sandra Ardoin

There were times when I wanted to shake Kylie and say, “Get over it already!” But I guess that’s what makes her seem real. Sometimes, it’s tough understanding someone who has a real, life-impacting fear that affects how they function. Yet I’d say the general population has some fear that another person would consider irrational.

If you’re looking for a sweet romance with “real” characters, try Delia Latham’s new novel, Kylie’s Kiss.

This is such a sweet book that touches some deep hurts. I think this is a great book to give young preteens to young adult women. I am much older than that and loved it but I do feel it would be a great book for girls that age to read. It could dispel some untruths that they have already started believing about themselves. It is a book with humor and joy. A book of redemption and mended relationships. A book of healing. A must read.
