ABOUT Bruce Pollock

Bruce Pollock
I am the author of IF YOU LIKE THE BEATLES, 10 other books on music and 3 novels. I was the founding co-editor in chief of GUITAR for the Practicing Musician and a record producer at BMG and Sony BMG for 12 years.

Since he was 18, the career of New Jersey piano man Eugene X. Maybloom was always touched by greatness. The greatness was provided by his muse, Cassie Morgan, "the teenage queen of confessional country rock," who took him under her wing and took him into her bed. When Cassie left him, his career took some strange turns. Follow his search from the '70s through '00 to get the magic back.

I started out as a songwriter and then moved over to interviewing songwriters for a living. My first book was In Their Own Words, with 20 songwriter interviews. Then I moved on to writing non-fiction and editing magazines and producing compilations. But my first love has always been fiction, followed closely by songwriting. In this book I get to combine the two, with the story of a songwriter (using my own songs).

"Wry, funny, knowledgeable and shrewd, its audience may well be literate, sophisticated and cynical 16 to 20 year olds..." School Library Journal.
"Or 'literate, sophisticated and cynical' teenagers who have now grown up."
