From the destruction of war comes the flower of hope. A bright but naive young man from rural Western Kentucky joins the Confederate army after the American Civil Wars outbreak. His journey and experiences throughout the Western Theater of the war deeply traumatize his psyche leading to a nightmarish post war battle with his sanity. His return home leaves him struggling with self loathing, guilt, and shame. Miraculously he slowly heals and grows stronger mentally, emotionally, and spiritually despite himself with the help of mysterious spiritual forces leading to love, romance, healing, and blessing.
