bbey and her friend have been picked to be on a relative TV show called Makeover Miracle. Abbey is reluctant to take part in the show, because when she was younger she was bullied and teased because of her looks. But, Abbey wants to support her friend, so she agrees to be on the show. Quinn, a produce on the show discovers Abbey's insecurities and discomforts and he quickly helps her. The characters were well developed. I love the strength and focus on Abbey and Jennifer's friendship. Abbey and Quinn also developed a strong relationship as well. I was routing for all the characters from the beginning. I also loved that despite the makeover and tv aspect of the show, looks didn't matter in the end. Instead, character development was the main focus. I highly recommend this read.

I love looking behind the scenes. Take me to a circus and I'll want to see what's happening behind the big tent rather than in the ring! So Makeover Miracle really worked for me with its setting in the world of reality TV.

Choosing a setting like a makeover program for a book could come across as gimmicky, but Charmaine Ross handles it well. Abbey's emotional journey is strongly written and believable. That grounds the book. In fact, it makes the structure of the TV makeover program part of the push that drives Abbey into seeing herself with new eyes.

Quinn is an interesting hero. He's three dimensional, not just Abbey's "reward" for risking love. He has his own issues and he deals with them.

And the celebration of friendship in the story is fantastic!
